Organizing your Webpages

Webpages are organized in your website using the concept of a parent/child relationship in ACM.  Understanding the organizational structure is important to creating an effective website.

A Parent page is any page within your website that has pages below it in the web site hierarchy (i.e. there are pages listed on the Child Pages Tab).   When adding web pages, you need to determine where in the hierarchy the new pages will be.   Below is a visual example of a website hierarchy.   The Home Page is the Parent for the Login, Company Profile, Contact Us and Product Information page and in turn these pages would be considered Child Pages of the Home Page.   When adding new web pages, you need to determine where in the hierarchy the new pages should appear.   You then Edit the existing Parent Page and add the new child page to it using the Child Pages Tab.   In our example below if you wanted to add a new Company News page, you would do so by editing the Company Profile page.   Company Profile is the Parent Page of Executive and Company History and is the logical location for any information about the Company.
